60th anniversary of the Victory

60th anniversary of the Victory

This picture I took in Victory Park.
Moscow is already prepared now for our important holiday "Victory Day", May 9th, and on this year will be the 60th anniversary of our Victory. This holiday commemorating the capitulation of Nazi Germany on May 9, 1945.
Victory Day it is the most memorable date in Russia, the DAY of MEMORY and MOURNING . This war is called The Great Patriotic War. The War lasted for four years and more then twenty million Russian people perished during this war.
I took a lot of new photos during the holidays from 30th of April till 2d May working with tourist from Chicago and will try to upload some interesting pictures for you as I have free time.

After recommendations from several friends, I booked Arthur for a full day tour of Moscow. In addition to his knowledge of the city and its history, he shared what it was like to live in Russia - both now and before 1991. His love for his country and his city show throughout the tour and he adjusted his plans based on my needs, interests and travel plans. I cannot recommend him highly enough and hope that at some point I will be able to return to Moscow with my husband so he can see Moscow through Arthur's eyes as well.
