This picture I took right on the time when starting dark. The arhitecture of all churches and walls of the Novodevichy Convent is very beautiful and looks magnificance at nights....

During for 400 years the Novodevichy Convent was the witness and the participant of important historical events, connected with the names of Ivan the Terrible, Boris Godunov, Sofia and Peter I. The architectural ensemble of the convent was formed by the end of 17th century and till now remains one of the best in Russia.
The convent is rather like a miniature Kremlin. Russian architects created a festive ensemble by combining traditional Russian architecture with some compositional devices of the Moscow baroque architecture.

Arthur was an amazing guide! I had a hectic schedule, photographing for American Express-owned Departures magazine in early March. Everything was organized pretty last minute and it wasn't easy to quickly get permission for the various sites I had to photograph. But Arthur did an incredible job. He was very persistent and came through on everything, all the while maintaining his humour! I know for sure I couldn't have done my 3-day shoot without his superb guidance! Thanks a million, Arthur!! You're the best!
