Lights on bridge to Cathedral

Lights on bridge to Cathedral

View on the famous Cathedral of Christ the Saviour from the beautiful pedestrian bridge built in old style. Very impressive illumination, architecture and location of this bridge attracts a lot of tourists as at day as at night.

The bridge was built at the end of summer 2004. It is a three-span construction beginning at the base and columns of the Christ The Saviour’s Cathedral, cross the Prchistenskaya and Bersenevskaya and finish with an escalator hall. The bridge is geometrically tied to the Cathedral ensemble and it is cross the river bed at an angle of 78 degrees. The bridge is 203 metres long and 12 metres wide. The total bridge area is 2,558 square metres.

The bridge is geometrically tied to the Christ the Savior’s Cathedral ensemble. Russian Academy of Arts Professional Artistic Centre of Zurab Tsereteli provided artistic decoration of the bridge.

My husband, children and I spent 5 very busy days in Moscow in May for business purposes. The downside of the trip was that most locals did not speak English. On our last night in Moscow, Arthur picked us from the Olimpiski center after the Eurovision semi-finals- that was around 1.30 a.m. Arthur gave us an amazing night tour that ended around 4 in the morning. We were so pleased not only to have an English speaking guide showing us around but also getting immersed in Arthur's extensive knowledge of the Russian history. He made us feel connected to the sites we visited. Thank you Arthur for all your efforts and for turning our last night in Moscow into a memory of a lifetime...
