Inside The Hall of Glory

Inside The Hall of Glory

The Hall of Glory is the central hall of the Central museum of the Great Patriotic War in Victory Park. It is intended for the commemoration of names of the Heroes of the Soviet Union, who recieved this title for the exploits in the time of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. It is a place of honor and of the expression of the profound gratitude to the participants of the war, to the workers of the rear, to the entire nation.

The Hall of Glory is the modern extencive three-dimensional composition. The names of more that 11800 Heroes of USSR and of the Heroes of Russian Federation are perpetuated on the snow-white marble pylons.

The bronze sculpture "The Victory Soldier" is placed at the center of the hall. A sword made by Tula armories lies at its feet on the granite pedestal (on this photo the people are looking on this sword).

The bas-reliefs of the city-heroes decorate the dome of the hall. A laurel wreath symbolizing the Victory triumph frames the domes. The colorful "Order of Victory" is in the center of the dome.
